History:
The Family Advocacy Communication and Education (FACE) Committee, one of standing committees of ICMHP, is a multi-system collaboration of state organizations and family/parent initiatives, that come together to impact the wellbeing of families and children across all child serving systems, including early childhood, school age and the juvenile justice system. Current members include Department of HumanServices - Family Consumer Specialists, Strengthening Families, Individual Care Grants Parents Group, Illinois Childrenâ�™s Mental Health Partnership, Illinois Federation of Families, Mental Health America of Illinois, National Alliance of Mental Illness, Parent Teacher Association, Illinois State Board of Education Illinois State Technical Assistance Program, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services, Mental Health Juvenile Justice, and additional family centered programs
Accomplishments:

Instrumental in the development of the ICMHP Strategic Plan as it pertains to families

Created the Parent’s Fact Sheet on Social, Emotional Development

Assisted in the development of the Request for Proposal for the Regional Family Leadership and Support Initiative

Oversees the Regional Family Leadership & Support Initiative
Current Activities:
- Continues to oversee the Regional Family Leadership & Support Initiative
- Works collaboratively and assists in coordinating with all systems in activities that pertain to family engagement, involvement and family driven care
- Created a workgroup to focus on a family credentialing certificate
- Created a workgroup to look at existing tools to measure outcomes as they pertain to family engagement, involvement and/or family driven care
- Continue to assist in dissemination of resources and events of the membership of the committee
