School Based Mental Health in Illinois
Every day in classrooms across Illinois, students being taught
appropriate curriculum by competent teachers are failing to
learn. School Based Mental Health: Assessing the Present and
Looking Toward the Future, is a collaborative effort between
Michael S. Kelly at Loyola University Chicago School of Social
Work and the multi-disciplinary team that comprises the
School Age Committee of the Illinois Children's Mental Health
Partnership. The SBMH Report summarizes current student
support programs, and examines how practitioner characteristics,
practice context, and practice choices in Illinois have
evolved. It provides recommendations for building and
strengthening policies and practices to advance comprehensive
school based mental health services and supports. |
