Benchmarks Workgroup

Co-Chairs, Amy Starin, Beth Hanselman

Staff: Karen VanLandeghem

History:

The Benchmarks Workgroup provides leadership and guidance to the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership and its member agencies in developing a Children’s Mental Health Indicators Initiative. The Initiative is designed to identify a core set of cross-system indicators related to children’s social and emotional development and mental health that will be measured, tracked and reported on over time by key programs in multiple child-serving systems including education, child care, mental health, primary care, juvenile justice, child welfare, and Early Intervention.

Current Activities:

The Workgroup is developing a plan for advancing the Initiative that considers                                 but is not limited to:
  • which selected benchmarks to measure across systems
  • how to build upon existing efforts within the state to track and measure child mental health outcomes
  • how to integrate existing child focused data systems in the state, where relevant and feasible
  • how to finance and sustain these child measurement efforts
  • key steps and strategies for implementing the initiative.
